SYNOPSIS
In the fjords of Norway, Trolgar, is banished by the Grand Jury of Trolls for bringing shame upon all trolls -he’s not scary! He carries baby goats across bridges instead of eating them, and can only return if he learns how to be a ‘RealTroll’. In New Zealand, 12-year-old Maia is exploring under a bridge when she’s startled to discover Trolgar. She runs away but looses her precious Pounamu pendant, a gift from her Maori mother, who was killed in a car accident a year ago. Trolgar decides to return the pendant to Maia, but gives her and her Norwegian Grandad a heck of a fright and he is knocked out with a fry pan. When Trolgar comes to, they learn he means no harm and that Trolgar can only return home if helearns how to be a ‘Real Troll’. However, the local Mayor soon gets wind that a ‘vicious creature’ is roaming the countryside and could harm his unscrupulous business plans. So he forms a posse, headed by expert pig hunter Irene and her dog Cuddles, to hunt down the beast. Desperate now to save their new friend, Maia and Grandad must hatch a plan to get Trolgar back to Norway.
