A mysterious traveller has yet to fulfill his ancient and vital mission - to record the dreams, beliefs and even nightmares of each and every culture in one magical book. Within the ancient pages of the tome is a world where myths and legends live and breathe - for some, the book is a sanctuary, for others, it has become a prison.

When the book is damaged in a struggle between a corrupt witch hunter and a brash young hustler named Martin, the two world's collide and Martin's girlfriend Sarah is trapped inside the pages of the book. Martin must join forces with the Storyteller and an unlikely band of heroes in order to save his one true love and protect the valuable link between the past, present and the future.

With the very idea of storytelling at its core, each episode revolves around a particular myth, fable or fairy tale being turned on it's head with an inventive and contemporary twist: Little Red Riding Hood is both the girl and the wolf, she is a werewolf: and Hansel and Gretel are not innocent, abandoned children but relentless torturers of an old woman haunted by guilt and a dark past.
